IDLES have announced a live rerelease of their debut LP, ‘Brutalism’, to celebrate its fifth anniversary
The 5th-anniversary rerelease will arrive on December 9th via Partisan Records.
IDLES are celebrating the fifth anniversary of their debut album, ‘Brutalism’, with a new rerelease including audio from their secret set at Glastonbury 2022.
The record catapulted the cult band into the mainstream spotlight, but was only pressed to a limited 100 LPs on its release in October 2017 - each record had ashes of lead singer Joe Talbot’s mother pressed into the vinyl, cementing the importance of her influence on his artistry.
“What started as a headstone slab of indulgence and unrest became a long journey of beauty, forgiveness, and gratitude,” Talbot has shared. “Little did we know that it was not just a headstone but the foundations we were building, for a house full to the brim with loving human beings. Thank you so, so much.”
The upcoming vinyl reissue will arrive on December 9th and features the original 13-song tracklist, as well as a second disc featuring live audio from their secret set at this year’s Glastonbury festival, where they played ‘Brutalism’ in full.
