KEVIN ABSTRACT

Kevin Abstract, born Clifford Ian Simpson on July 16, 1996, is an American rapper, singer, and producer. He is the founder and de facto leader of the hip-hop group Brockhampton, which released eight studio albums between 2017 and 2022. Abstract has released solo work since 2009, including the albums MTV1987 (2014) and American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story (2016), both of which received attention from online blogs and music publications. He made his major label debut with Arizona Baby in 2019. Following Brockhampton's disbandment in 2022, he released the albums Blanket (2023) and a mixtape, Glue (2024). His fifth studio album, Blush, was released on June 27, 2025. In addition to his work with Brockhampton, Abstract has served as a songwriter, producer, and collaborator for other artists. In 2020, he and Romil Hemnani founded Video Store, a record label and apparel company that signed artists such as Blossom, Christian Alexander, and SoGone SoFlexy before dissolving in 2023. In 2025, he founded the Houston-based collective Blush and co-founded the record label Juno with Fike, with whom he forms the duo Geezer.
