Laura Jane Grace, born Thomas James Gabel on November 8, 1980, is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. She is the founder, lead singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist of the punk rock band Against Me!. In 2016, she began a solo project called Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers. Grace publicly came out as transgender in May 2012, becoming one of the first highly visible punk rock musicians to do so. She released her first solo studio album after transitioning, titled Stay Alive, in 2020, and followed with Hole in My Head in 2024.
