The Suicide Machines are an American ska punk band formed in March 1991 in Detroit, Michigan. The band has released seven full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records, Side One Dummy Records, and Fat Wreck Chords, along with several EPs and singles. Throughout their career, the band experienced lineup changes, with founding member Jason Navarro remaining as lead singer and frontman. The current lineup includes Ryan Vandeberghe on drums, Rich Tschirhart on bass, and Justin Malek on guitar. Their early musical style combined punk rock, ska, and hardcore elements, which was reflected in their first two albums. After experimenting with a more radio-friendly sound, they returned to their ska punk roots and incorporated heavier, politically charged elements influenced by early hardcore punk. The band gained recognition within the punk and ska scenes through extensive touring, including performances on the Warped Tour, Riot Fest, and their annual Black Christmas festivals in Detroit.
