Chat Pile, Sweet Pill and more have boycotted Houston venue over Ken Paxton fundraiser
Bands have moved Houston shows or pledged proceeds to local organisations after White Oak Music Hall hosted a fundraiser for Ken Paxton.

Wednesday is an American alternative rock band formed in Asheville, North Carolina, in 2017. The band includes Karly Hartzman (vocals, guitar), MJ Lenderman (guitar, backing vocals), Xandy Chelmis (pedal steel, backing vocals), Alan Miller (drums), and Ethan Baechtold (bass). The group's style has been described as a mixture of shoegaze, noise rock, and alternative country. Their lyrics have been praised for storytelling about life in the American south. The band originated as a solo project of Hartzman, with Daniel Gorham joining shortly after its formation. They recorded their debut album, 'yep definitely,' as a duo in 2018. The band expanded to a five-piece with the addition of Miller, Chelmis, and bassist Margo Schultz. Their second studio album, 'I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone,' was released in 2020. In 2021, they released 'Twin Plagues,' the first album to feature Lenderman as a full member. In 2022, they released a covers album titled 'Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'em Up.' Following the album's release, the band left its label and signed with Dead Oceans.
