WEYES BLOOD

Weyes Blood is an American singer, songwriter, and musician born as Natalie Laura Mering on June 11, 1988. She was primarily raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Mering has performed her own material since 2003 under various names, including Weyes Blood and Weyes Bluhd. Her early career involved participation in the underground noise music scene and membership as a bassist in the Portland-based experimental rock group Jackie-O Motherfucker, as well as singing for the band Satanized. As Weyes Bluhd, she released several projects that explored softer pop and folk sounds, including her debut studio album Strange Chalices of Seeing in 2007. She later adopted the moniker Weyes Blood to release her second album The Outside Room in 2011 on Not Not Fun Records. Mering signed with the independent label Mexican Summer, releasing The Innocents in 2014 and Front Row Seat to Earth in 2016. Her subsequent albums, Titanic Rising (2019) and And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow (2022), were released via Sub Pop and received critical acclaim.
