Yumi Zouma have dropped their new album, 'Present Tense' - stream
“This is our fourth album, so we wanted to pivot slightly, create more extreme versions of songs.”

Yumi Zouma is a New Zealand alternative pop band from Christchurch. The group includes Christie Simpson on vocals and keyboards, Josh Burgess on guitar, bass guitar, vocals, and keyboards, Charlie Ryder on guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards, and Olivia Campion on drums. The band's name combines the names of two friends who encouraged the group to start writing together. The members played concerts together in Christchurch before beginning to write music collaboratively after moving abroad and exchanging emails following the Christchurch earthquake. Their early material attracted attention in the blogosphere, leading to a signing with American label Cascine before they had performed live or held a band practice. Between 2014 and 2015, Yumi Zouma released two EPs, titled EP I and EP II. Their debut album, Yoncalla, was released in 2016 and featured singles such as 'Keep It Close To Me' and 'Barricade (Matter Of Fact)'. In 2017, the band released their second album, Willowbank, which included singles like 'December', 'Depths (Pt. I)', and 'Half Hour'. The group released EP III in 2018, with singles including 'In Camera' and 'Crush (It's Late Just Stay)'.
