Cruz Beckham
Brian Gardner, known in the trade as Brian Big Bass Gardner, is an American mastering engineer who spent some four decades at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood before going independent. The nickname came from Dr Dre during sessions there, a nod to the low-end heft Gardner brought to West Coast hip-hop. His credits run deep through rap and rock alike, and on Dork his name sits beside Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Linkin Park, blink-182 and Christina Aguilera. He has been nominated several times for the Album of the Year Grammy and won it for OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which makes him one of the more decorated mastering engineers of his generation.
