Swedish alt-pop riser ORKID returns today with her second EP, ‘In All Of My Tomorrows’, out via Warner Music.
First breaking through with ‘Where Flowers Grow’, she quickly carved out a space for herself with music that’s both intimate and emotionally sharp. Over the past year, that world has only expanded. ‘In All Of My Tomorrows’ builds on the foundations of her debut, threading a slightly more electronic, widescreen sound through the same core instinct: telling the truth, even when it’s messy.
As ORKID puts it: “My first EP, ‘Where Flowers Grow’, was rooted in grief - a body of work that helped me begin to heal deep trauma. But grief never truly leaves us, it lingers, it evolves. This EP ‘In All Of My Tomorrows’ is the continuation, the echo of that sorrow, shaped by the space between mourning and mending. It’s a tribute to everything that’s carried me through.”
Below, ORKID walks us through ‘In All Of My Tomorrows’ track by track, in her own words.
In All of My Tomorrows
This song is for the person who became my anchor. Even when the shadows feel heavy, I will carry my grief with me into every new day. Yet within that grief lives hope, because they are with me now and in all of my tomorrows. And now I know I never have to face them alone.
Ethereal
Part of my healing meant losing faith in the world and letting go of illusions. There were times I longed to escape completely, to drift to another realm. 'Ethereal' is that longing - the ache for something new, a dream of a softer world. It’s the beginning of the journey into Eden.
