Unholy

From The James Devlin Album2025

Lyrics

Unholy

Where we stay there's nothing holy

We kill we pray

It's so unholy

Holy (Amen Amen)

There's nothing holy

There's nothing holy nah

Tread slowly round here there ain't nothing holy

If I was you I'd keep it moving forward like a roly poly on this track

Like a warrior who's trying to make it back to Coney

In one piece but the devil's lonely

See that things are reaching boiling point no rigatoni

There ain't no love the love is dead it's now a ghost emoji

All that's left is words bound in flesh

I'm the author of The book in Evil Dead

Read me if you're lonely

Someone's always starting

And there's trouble everywhere

Every time I leave my house

I am met with cold stares

Today I'm fucking pissed off

Today just be aware

I will put your ass down like in musical chairs

Everybody is a zombie

From the dead they rose

Ambulances corpses bodies

Now they're tagging toes around here

You get stabbed to death and left to decompose

There's a devil on my shoulder with me everywhere I go

Everywhere I go

As we all go round on this merry go round

Eyed body's quick to drag another man down

I don't think they wanna see us shine here

All they wanna do is see us die in fear

Till we're all laid down looking up at white clouds

There's always gonna be a shadow over this town

Lord Jesus shine a bit of light here

It's feeling like we might have lost the fight here

Where we stay there's nothing holy

We kill we pray

It's so unholy

(Amen Amen)

There's nothing holy

There's nothing holy nah

Amen

I can feel this fire in my soul

Burning through my body

I don't wanna let it go

You can see this demon

I don't really wanna show

Until I feel ashamed

Then I have to up and go

Think it's fun and games

'til there's minus one at home

Mum and dad are flicking through their pictures in their phone

All because you thought you was a big man on the road

Do you feel a big man lying six below

No no so

Where I'm from it's a mile of murders

Knives and Burners

Drug lords and Demon Workers

Four corners

Lawless no order and no escape nah depression

Everybody stressing begging for blessings

They don't wanna see us rise up

So they keep us in a square full of drama

On a loop until our time's up

So watch your step it's gritty here not pretty here

People live in fear and fold up like a garden chair

As we all go round on this merry go round

Everybody's quick to drag another man down

I don't think they wanna see us shine here

All they wanna do is see us die in fear

Till we're all laid down looking up at white clouds

There's always gonna be a shadow over this town

Lord Jesus shine a bit of light here

It seems as though we might have lost the fight here

Where we stay there's nothing holy

We kill we pray

It's so unholy

(Amen Amen)

There's nothing holy

There's nothing holy nah

Devlin on Dork

Where Devlin’s verse on Jorja Smith’s ‘This City’ comes from

Devlin’s appearance on Jorja Smith’s ‘This City’ returns to his 2010 track ‘London City’, but it is a newly recorded contribution rather than a sample of the original performance.

Jorja Smith has released her third album and announced a huge London show

A 2027 world tour lands at The O2 in London next July.

Jorja Smith has announced her third album ‘What Are The Odds’ with Wizkid collaboration ‘Alive’

P2J produces throughout, with Devlin re-recording his 'London City' verse for 'This City'.
