This song I came up with uh I can't remember exactly What was I gonna do? Wait, what was I gonna play? Oh now I remember This song I started off this song I started off and I was reading somewhere said Alan Greenspan Had played the saxophone, remember that guy? And I thought maybe he was misunderstood you know And I wrote that down Alan Greenspan might have been misunderstood He played the saxophone I wrote that down and I put it in my pile of shit that I write down And I told myself someday there was gonna be a song about how Alan Greenspan could play the saxophone And then I started working on that song doing onе line And the next linе and just letting it come out, sorta stream of consciousness, I guess And then we would take lines out and put new lines in We were working on it for months Then one day it occurred to me I was like Hey Alan Greenspan uh he isn't even in the song anymore And he was like shit he isn't, is he? And then he, we were both like, so what's this about then? You know, and we couldn't think of anything Fuck, we don't know but there's, I dunno There's lots of songs I don't know what they're about And I like em so fuck it, you know So I started singing this The record company didn't notice that it wasn't about anything So we recorded it and put it out This is true I was then I went on the road and I was I keep saying Philadelphia because I think it was there In the Weekly Scene There was a review of the record that we had just put out and it said that This song was a song about a guy getting ready to rob another guy Right?
