Amie Blu has returned with her new single ‘trees for the woods’.
The track marks her first new music since the release of debut album ‘when all is said and done’ last autumn, and finds the London artist reflecting on hindsight, relationships and finally understanding something after it’s already over.
Written and produced alongside Teo Halm, Jim Reed and regular collaborators Will Hargreaves and Worm, the song had already built momentum online after being teased across Amie Blu’s socials earlier this year.
“trees for the woods is a saying i heard once but i guess it was worded wrong because the phrase is typically ‘wood for the trees’,” Amie explains. “idk, i found it funny and ‘trees for the woods’ sounded better for the song so I kept it as I had heard it.
“The song is about hindsight and wishing you knew what would’ve come from having someone in your life. I was too in it to understand it completely at the time, but I see it for what it is now type beat.”
The release follows a sold-out headline show at The Echo in Los Angeles, and arrives ahead of summer live dates including Primavera In The City, The Twilight Concert Series in Salt Lake City alongside Freddie Gibbs, and UK support slots with Faye Webster in August.
The band offer a first glimpse of their forthcoming full-length debut.
