Ahead of this summer's men's World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico,
Belle and Sebastian have penned a new track in honour of Scotland's footballers. Titled 'It Only Takes One Lion', the song received its first outing during the band's encore at London's Royal Albert Hall on Thursday.
The evening's performance was split into two sets, with the band running through '
If You're Feeling Sinister' from start to finish before dipping into a wider selection from their catalogue. When they returned to the stage for the encore, Murdoch revealed the brand new composition, during which he could be seen passing a football around with a child onstage.
Speaking about the track's sound, Stuart Murdoch told the audience, "We were aiming for New Order with this one."
Sadly, it does not have a rap by Scott McTominay.
