Bloc Party have shared another taster of their forthcoming album ‘
Alpha Games’.
Titled
‘Sex Magik’, it follows up on the already revealed ‘
Traps’ and ‘
The Girls Are Fighting’. ‘
Alpha Games’, Bloc Party’s first full-length since 2016’s ‘
Hymns’, I’d set for release on 29th April.
“‘Sex Magik’ is probably my favourite song on the record,” explains Kele Okereke (
via Stereogum). “It’s about a memory that I’d completely forgotten that resurfaced a few years ago about a summer fling that I had. I was a teenager at the time and during that summer I felt like the veil had been lifted from my eyes. I saw the world in a completely different way. It was a short-lived affair but the effects of that summer have stayed with me for a lifetime."
Bloc Party are set to headline the BBC 6 Music Festival this April in Cardiff, before heading out on a run of UK and EU dates across May and June.
