'Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar'. Not something you'd need to say to Dinosaur Jr's legendarily laconic frontman J Mascis, but a series of albums by Frank Zappa consisting of just guitar solos. 106 minutes of the things.
Now, as a teaser for their upcoming 'Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not’, out on August 5 through Jagjaguwar, Dinosaur Jr have done something similar, but (thankfully? - Ed) shorter, splicing all of the album’s solos together as ‘Solo Extractions’, which you can listen to below.
