dodie has released a video for ‘I Feel Bad For You, Dave’ featuring Jeff Goldblum

Her UK and European tour precedes North American dates.

Artists: dodie

dodie has released the video for new single ‘I Feel Bad For You, Dave’, which features a cameo from Jeff Goldblum. The track is lifted from her second album, ‘Not For Lack Of Trying’, due on 3rd October via Decca / Verve.

The bossa nova‑inflected single follows recent live links between the pair after dodie joined Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra onstage in the UK earlier this year at the London Palladium and Pryzm, Kingston.

dodie says, it’s “a song about the ego of people who feel as though they lack power, so try to gain it in ways that ironically have the opposite effect. We all know a Dave!”

It is also partly a reaction to watching a close friend endure racist abuse online. “I did not know what to do – I wanted to just drag them down, I wanted to reply to them and make videos about them,” she remembers. “And I was like, ‘OK, I can’t do any of that, so I’ll write a song.’”
