London artist easyclear blends folk and electronic elements in new single ‘Teammate’, exploring themes of companionship through sporting metaphors.

Artists: easyclear

easyclear has announced their debut EP ‘Green’, due 25th April, alongside new single ‘Teammate’.

The solo project of London-based artist Luke Deacon, the upcoming EP was produced by Alex O’Donovan at Strongroom Studios, drawing influence from artists including Arthur Russell, Bert Jansch, and Elliott Smith.

“Teammate is a song about companionship in its many forms. Through sporting references it espouses the values of trust, commitment and mutual support,” Deacon explains. “Conceived around a fingerpicked classical guitar that gallops through the track, a tight drum groove propels the song forward with attitude while bold synths and tape-manipulated piano evoke a slightly bittersweet world of wet turf, rain and memory.”
