Kelsey Lu has shared her first single in seven years, 'Running To Pain', from forthcoming album 'So Help Me God'
The ten-track record features Sampha, Kamasi Washington and Kim Gordon.

Kelsey Lu has announced her second album 'So Help Me God', set for release on 12th June through Dirty Hit. The record's lead single 'Running To Pain' is out now.
Produced alongside Jack Antonoff and Yves Rothman, with mixing handled by Oli Jacobs, the ten-track album features contributions from Sampha, Kamasi Washington and Kim Gordon. It follows Lu's 2019 debut 'Blood'.
Speaking about the project, Lu said: "So Help Me God was built slowly and intentionally across seven years of transformation. Sonically and emotionally it holds so many different worlds at once - devotion and desire, collapse and becoming- trying to make sense of what it means to break, to believe, to long for something without seeing it clearly, and to be reborn again and again and again."
Accompanying the single is a video directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Savanah Leaf, which was developed collaboratively with Lu. Filmed across Lanzarote's volcanic terrain, it stars French actor Garance Marillier and represents the opening chapter of a broader cinematic project tied to the album. Lu and Leaf have previously worked together on film scores, including A24's 'Earth Mama'.
Since her debut, Lu has expanded her work across multiple disciplines. Her scoring credits also include Netflix documentary 'Daughters', while musical collaborations have included Yves Tumor, Jamie xx, Debbie Harry and Skrillex. Her visual art and fashion work has involved partnerships with Nan Goldin, Wu Tsang, Gucci, Miu Miu and Bottega Veneta.
A run of intimate live performances at Blue Note venues in New York and Los Angeles takes place next month. The dates in full read:
