Lizzie Esau has released new single ‘Bugs’, and is hinting at her debut album

Rising star Lizzie Esau releases ‘Bugs’ following Glastonbury BBC Introducing headline slot, while teasing plans for her debut album.

Artists: Lizzie Esau

Lizzie Esau has released new single ‘Bugs’, marking her first output since headlining BBC Introducing at Glastonbury Festival 2024.

The 25-year-old artist’s latest track explores themes of creativity and self-destruction, following her breakthrough year which saw her release single ‘She’s a Scorpio’.

“I feel inspired and ready for a new era of music… I can’t wait for the next year of building up to my biggest, most exciting body of work yet,” says Esau, hinting at plans for her debut album.

The new single emerged from a period of writer’s block, with Esau exploring the relationship between happiness and creative output. “My downfall is my muse / If you asked me I would choose / To stay just as I am / I’m no fun unless I’ve drank,” she reflects in the track’s lyrics.

Esau recently performed a sold-out headline show at The Glasshouse for BBC Introducing in Tyne and Wear. This followed her UK tour supporting South Arcade and Soft Launch, with the artist now embarking on her own headline dates.
