MGMT are teasing a “fancy new album”, set to drop this year

Indie rock duo MGMT have teased that new music is on the way in 2023.
The announcement comes alongside the news that they will be making their way to the stage once again for the first time in four years at the Just Like Heaven Festival in Pasadena, California on May 13, 2023. The band will be performing their entire first album, 'Oracular Spectacular', in full as part of their special set.
In a statement, the group said that they are currently "stocking up on rust remover and constructing a state of the art elf workshop" in order to provide fans with the most experimental live show since their days as "wee lads". Additionally, the band teased a "fancy new album" is in the works and should be finished sometime in 2023.

The news comes shortly after the release of their live album, '11-11-11', in November of last year. Their last studio album, 'Little Dark Age', was released back in 2018.
