Michael Kiwanuka has unveiled the video for his new single 'Floating Parade'.
The visuals were directed by New Orleans-based filmmaker Phillip Youmans, who previously collaborated with Kiwanuka on the video for 'Beautiful Life'. 'Floating Parade' also sees Kiwanuka reunite with producers Danger Mouse and Inflo, the team behind his previous two records.
Kiwanuka explained the song's theme, stating, "The song itself is loosely written about utilising your senses to find an escape, particularly in oppressive circumstances, whether spiritually or physically. The floating parade is the metaphorical movement of taking yourself out of an uncomfortable situation and seeking comfort elsewhere, driven almost solely by the power of the mind."
The release follows Kiwanuka's recent summer festival performances across the UK and Europe, including appearances at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage and headlining the Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire.
In late September, Kiwanuka will embark on a 14-date joint headline tour of the US with Brittany Howard, alongside two Canadian headline dates in Toronto and Montreal. The tour dates are as follows:
SEPTEMBER
25 Queen Elizabeth Hall, Toronto, Canada
26 Mtelus, Montreal, Canada
