Oasis documentary currently runs to four hours, says producer Steven Knight

A new documentary charting Oasis' Live '25 reunion tour is in the works, with producer Steven Knight confirming that the team are working to trim the film down from its current four-hour runtime.

Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the pair behind LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up And Play The Hits, the project granted Knight's crew access to rehearsal rooms and behind-the-scenes meetings in the lead-up to the band's historic comeback. The footage reportedly captures Liam and Noel Gallagher's first meeting before the reunion shows took place.

Promoting his new film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man during a conversation with Project Big Screen, Knight offered an update on progress. "It's phenomenal," he said. "We've got it down to four hours, so we've gotta get it down to [a shorter runtime]."

Knight went on to describe how the project differs from a typical concert film. "But it's a documentary with a plot, do you know what I mean? It's actually got a story. And then we've expanded it… you'll see when you see it. It's been great, and they're great. I interviewed [the Gallagher brothers], and they're just one quote after another. They're just so funny."

Noel Gallagher has offered his own perspective on what he's seen so far. "I've only seen a tiny little bit of it and it's difficult to have an opinion on it because I'm only looking at little snippets," he said. "Everyone who has seen it, or seen more of it than I have, has said that it's amazing. If it even captures five per cent of what that tour was, it'll be astonishing. Looking forward to it."

Reflecting on the tour itself, Noel added: "The gigs were amazing, particularly the ones in Manchester, and I'm kind of lost for words for it, really. The gigs spoke for themselves."

In related news, Noel recently collected the Songwriter Of The Year award at the BRITs 2026, where he thanked his brother and their bandmates past and present. "Without them, I'd just be a singer-songwriter, and no-one gives a shit about singer-songwriters," he said. Oasis have also been sharing official live recordings from the tour, with performances of 'Slide Away' from Cardiff, 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' from Manchester, 'Little By Little' from London, 'Bring It On Down' from Edinburgh, 'Wonderwall' from Dublin, and 'Acquiesce' from Wembley all made available.
