Olivia Dean has unveiled new track ‘It Isn’t Perfect But It Might Be’, which will serve as the lead song and end credits music for the upcoming film ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’.

The multi-BRIT and Mercury-nominated artist’s new track has been written and recorded specifically for the fourth instalment of the Bridget Jones franchise, which sees Renée Zellweger return to her role as the titular character.

“I’ve always loved the Bridget Jones films, they’re timeless classics,” Dean says. “After seeing Mad About The Boy I was so moved by the journey we’ve watched Bridget go on over the years. ‘It Isn’t Perfect But It Might Be’ is about giving yourself permission to love again after grief, and trusting that things might just work out after all, even if it’s not how you expected them to. This is the first time I’ve been a part of something like this and I can’t wait for it to come out!”

The film follows Bridget as she navigates life as a widow and single mother, four years after Mark Darcy’s death during a humanitarian mission in Sudan. The cast includes returning stars Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, and Colin Firth, alongside new additions Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall.

Dean’s 2023 single ‘Dive’, taken from her debut album ‘Messy’, will also feature in the film, which is directed by Michael Morris and based on Helen Fielding’s best-selling book series.
