Panic Shack have returned with new single ‘grin & bear it’, marking the Cardiff band’s first new music since the release of their self-titled debut album last year.
Produced by Ross Orton, the track was originally considered for the band’s debut LP before being extensively reworked into its final form earlier this year.
Speaking about the song, the band said: “This song has had many iterations, seen many a practice room and taken many forms. It’s a song that we’ve felt really passionate about getting right but the music was never fully hitting.
“It almost made it onto our debut album but it just wasn’t where it needed to be, we felt it didn’t have enough grit - until now. We really clicked with Ross in the studio and are super proud of what the track has become, it sounds massive.”
The single arrives alongside a self-directed video filmed during Panic Shack’s recent German tour. “We left no graffiti’d wall un-lip synced in front of, no green room relaxed in, every cool monument photo op used as a backdrop,” the band said.
‘grin & bear it’ lands ahead of a busy summer of touring, including Panic Shack’s first North American headline run, which begins in Washington DC on 9th June and wraps in Los Angeles later that month.
The band will also support Sex Pistols on a number of North American dates later this year, alongside UK appearances with Super Furry Animals and festival slots including Latitude, Green Man and CBGB Festival.
