Parcels have returned with new single ‘Safeandsound’, and they’re teasing a new album

Australian band Parcels release new single ‘Safeandsound’ with live performance video, ahead of summer festival dates including Glastonbury.

Parcels have announced a European tour, including their biggest-ever UK show at Wembley Arena

Parcels have shared their first track of 2025, ‘Safeandsound’, via Because Music, alongside a live performance video of the new song.

The track was recorded live at Golden Retriever Studios in Sydney, featuring all five members performing together in one room.

Guitarist Jules Crommelin explains the inspiration behind the song: “The lyrics were inspired by a podcast I heard called ‘The Cloud of Unknowing’ by Tom Lutz. He talks about the good side of not knowing; where you are, where you’re going, what time it is, your future. He shows a kind of practice in embracing the unknowable of everyday. It really resonated with me, as I often feel quite daunted thinking about what will happen next in my life, so I was writing to myself with a positive framing inspired by that.”

Patrick Hetherington reflects on the band’s current creative direction: “It’s very internal for all of us, so personal and so deep, which is sometimes quite uncomfortable. But I guess that’s what Parcels is — at least at the moment — all of us having that individual journey, then trying to make a space so we can funnel everybody’s experiences into the same world and express it as a celebration.”

‘Safeandsound’ follows the band’s ‘Leaveyourlove’ EP from last year, which featured collaborations with artists including King Stingray, Ximena Sariñana, and Robert Owens. The band are set to release a new album this autumn.
