Peace, Gengahr, whenyoung, Jaws + more have been announced for new ‘What’s Going On?’ charity album

Peace, Gengahr, whenyoung and Jaws are amongst just a handful of names set to feature on new charity album compilation: ‘What’s Going On?’

Curated and pulled together by the teams at CloseUp and Blood Records (alongside a range of mates), the compilation pulls together some absolute faves onto one special vinyl release - with rarities, B-sides, demoes, remixes and live recordings all featuring

With all proceeds from the special release going towards Music Venue Trust’s ‘Save Our Venues’ Campaign and musically-aligned BAME supporting mental health organisations via L;FE - the album also sees appearances from the likes of FLYTE, The Night Cafe, Marsicans, Connie Constance, Sad Boys Club, Abbie Ozard, Little Comets, Jerry Williams and a special TBA artist too

In a statement, organisers of ‘What’s Going On?’ explained: “This is a cause dear to us, and to the artists, promoters, managers and agents that make Britain’s musical life so rich and vigorous. Closures will cause obvious immediate problems for individual members of staff, from venue managers, to sound techs, bar managers & more. They will also create a cultural void, remove opportunity and life from the grassroots up in towns across the UK, for years to come. We simply cannot sit back and allow this to happen. The incredibly generous acts on ‘What’s Going On?’ have worked and performed in these venues & will, we hope, continue to do so. We recognise the gravity of the situation, and so do they.”
