Poppy has released an ‘I am Poppy’ T-shirt after the Grammys mix-up with Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante

Both acts were up for the Metal category.

Genre-bending icon Poppy plots 28-date victory lap following Grammy recognition

Poppy has released a new T-shirt design referencing a case of mistaken identity at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

The merchandise launch follows an incident at the 2025 Grammy Awards where Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante was mistaken for Poppy during a red-carpet interview. Both artists were nominated in the Best Metal Performance category – LaPlante with Spiritbox for ‘Cellar Door’, and Poppy for her collaboration with Knocked Loose, ‘Suffocate’.

When approached by an interviewer who believed she was Poppy, LaPlante played along with the mix-up, stating: “I am Poppy, and I am really happy to be here nominated with Knocked Loose. I really hope we win.” She continued the performance, adding: “I hope it’s me [who wins] or Spiritbox and Courtney.”

Following the viral moment, Poppy has unveiled a black-and-white T-shirt featuring a printed name tag with the text “Hello, I am Poppy.” The artist shared the announcement online with the caption “We are all Poppy.”
