Ruel has shared ‘Don’t Say That’, reworking an old idea into the opening of his next album
Ten new tracks featuring Kenny Beats, M-Phazes and more arrive in June.

Australian singer-songwriter Ruel has unveiled 'Don't Say That', a new single produced by Joel Little and co-written with Sean Douglas.
The track serves as the opening salvo from a brand new 10-track record titled 'Kicking & Screaming', due on 12th June through Giant Music. Originally surfacing as 'dst (outro)' on last year's 'Kicking My Feet', the song has now been reworked and expanded into its full form.
Speaking about the track, Ruel said: "At the start of writing DST, I felt like it wasn't right/ready for Kicking my Feet…but as Joel (Little), Sean (Douglas) and I continued to revisit and develop it, my brain completely switched sides and now, honestly, it's one of my favourite songs that I've written. Of course, M-Phazes stepped in to add the extra bite it needed. Where we ended up with the song felt like it was the perfect way to set up the new chapter. And now here we are...releasing it as the first track off the new album!"
Among those contributing to 'Kicking & Screaming' are Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, Kenny Beats, M-Phazes, Dan Wilson and Leroy Clampit. The record expands on the world established by 'Kicking My Feet', which arrived last October.
