Sam Fender is going to headline Radio 1's Big Weekend 2025 in Liverpool

The Geordie singer-songwriter will headline Liverpool's three-day music festival alongside Wet Leg, Blossoms, and other major acts next May.

Sam Fender has been announced as the first headliner for Radio 1's Big Weekend 2025 in Liverpool, set to take place from 23rd May to 25th May.

Myles Smith, Wet Leg, Blossoms and Lola Young have also been confirmed for the event, which will feature around 100 acts performing across four stages: Radio 1 Main Stage, Radio 1 New Music Stage, Radio 1 Dance and BBC Introducing.

"Excited to announce we're coming to Liverpool for Radio 1's Big Weekend in May. Thanks for inviting us - see you there!" says Fender.

The festival is being organised in partnership with Liverpool City Council, with a focus on sustainability in line with the BBC's Sustainability programme and Liverpool's status as the first UN Accelerator City for climate action.
