Sam Fender and
Olivia Dean's '
Rein Me In' is back at the top of the UK's Official Singles Chart, marking a 12th non-consecutive week at number one.
The track previously broke the Official Singles Chart record for the longest-running male/female duet, overtaking Rihanna and Jay-Z's 'Umbrella', which managed 10 weeks at the summit back in 2007.
'Rein Me In' originally featured on Fender's 2025 album '
People Watching' before being remixed last June with the addition of a new verse from Dean. The single reached number one in February 2026 and later collected song of the year at the BRIT Awards.
The song is now closing in on Alex Warren's 'Ordinary', which holds the record as the longest-running UK number one single of the 2020s so far with 13 non-consecutive weeks at the top. The all-time record remains with Frankie Laine, who racked up 18 non-consecutive weeks with 'I Believe' in 1953.
Fender was also among the artists recognised at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards, where he picked up the songwriter of the year prize.
Elsewhere on the chart,
Drake's 'Janice STFU' lands at number two, with 'National Treasures' at number three. The Canadian artist has set a new UK chart record by placing three studio albums simultaneously inside the top 10: '
Iceman' at number one, '
Maid of Honour' at number six and 'Habibti' at number seven.
Following the box-office performance of a recent biopic,
Michael Jackson's '
Billie Jean' climbs to number four, while
Tame Impala's '
Dracula' drops from number two to number five.
Gracie Abrams' 'Hit the Wall', the first song from her upcoming third album 'Daughter From Hell', enters at number 18. This year's Eurovision-winning entry, 'Bangaranga' by Bulgaria's DARA, debuts at number 21.
