Skye Newman has released ‘SE9 Part 2’, the follow-up to the South London singer-songwriter's breakthrough debut project ‘SE9 Part 1’.
Named after the postcode where she grew up, the new eight-track collection sees Newman continue her autobiographical storytelling, exploring themes including identity, relationships, inherited trauma, womanhood and self-worth.
The release arrives alongside focus track ‘Man of the House’, which examines responsibility, masculinity and emotional survival.
“SE9 Part 2 is all about the journey of my life the past few years,” says Newman. “It’s an insight into the strength I’ve gained and how much I’ve grown and learnt through womanhood; its acceptance, guidance and power put into music.”
The project follows recent singles ‘Walk’ and ‘Woman I Am’, which introduced many of the themes running through the record. While the former centred on self-preservation, the latter focused on friendship, solidarity and female empowerment.
‘SE9 Part 2’ arrives after a huge 18 months for Newman, who has picked up BBC Radio 1's Sound of 2026 title, BRIT Award nominations for Song of the Year and Breakthrough Artist, a MOBO nomination and an Ivor Novello nomination.
Later this year, she'll head out on ‘The Survival Tour’, including four sold-out nights at London's O2 Academy Brixton.
The track closes the campaign for her self-titled debut album.
