Softcult rage against oppressive systems on their new ‘Tired’ video
The track was written about radicalisation.

Softcult have shared the official video for ‘Tired’, taken from their debut album ‘When A Flower Doesn’t Grow’, which is out now via Easy Life Records.
The Ontario sibling duo say the track was written about radicalisation and the exhaustion of living through increasingly hostile political and social conditions.
“This track is about radicalization,” vocalist Mercedes Arn-Horn explains. “We wrote it about reaching the breaking point of frustration with a fundamentally unfair and oppressive system.”
“We’re exhausted, disgusted and horrified by the blatant violation of human rights and fearful of the very real threat of fascist dictatorship. We’re worn out from debating, educating, and simply existing in these times. There are no more excuses. No justifications.”
She continues: “This song is about rejecting and revolting against the current systems of power, and condemning the hateful ideologies they promote.”
‘Tired’ appears on ‘When A Flower Doesn’t Grow’, a debut album shaped by themes of oppression, self-discovery and survival. Its title was inspired by the quote: “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”
Across the record, Softcult expand their blend of grunge, shoegaze and alt-rock, pairing heavy guitars and hazy textures with lyrics centred on identity, trauma and liberation.
The album follows last year’s ‘Heaven’ EP and arrives after a busy run of touring across North America, the UK, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.
