Track from debut album arrives ahead of his Iceland Airwaves 2026 appearance.
SPOUSES has shared new single 'Saint Christopher', a tribute to Liverpool duo Her's.
Released today, the track is taken from Joel Durksen's debut album, 'I Could Be Your Dog', which is out now via Icelandic label Kalfholt Records.
'Saint Christopher' was inspired in part by the deaths of Her's members Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, who were killed in a road accident while touring the US in 2019.
"'Saint Christopher' is a character study about a car crash and a subsequent near-death experience," Durksen explains. "Not exactly a true story but inspired by a real crash that caused the passing of a family member, and another that took some friends who were musicians."
The release also coincides with the announcement that SPOUSES will play Iceland Airwaves this November, having been booked after playing just two shows in Iceland.
