TRNSMT 2023 has revealed its initial bill, led by The 1975, Sam Fender and Pulp

  • October 28, 2022

The 1975, Sam Fender and Pulp have been confirmed as headliners for TRNSMT 2023.

The city-centre day festival will take place in Glasgow Green from July 7th-11th.

The 1975 have claimed a prime set in the wake of their fifth number one album, ‘Being Funny In A Foriegn Language, which Dork’s 5-star review described as, “a brilliant edit of everything that came before, cast in the self-realisation and not-so-quiet confidence of just how good they can be”. The divisive four-piece offer a monumental live show, as they proved with their last-minute headline at Reading & Leeds festival earlier this year – catch up on that set here.

Geordie rocker Sam Fender is still riding the waves of 2021’s ‘Seventeen Going Under’, the chart-topping album which was recently nominated for the Mercury Prize. Not only does his introspective songwriting reveal definitive talent, but it’s also backed by a giant live show that’s already taken the country by storm – Fender sold out his headline show at Finsbury Park earlier this year, and has sold-out two stadium dates at Newcastle’s St. James Park for next summer.

Britpop giants Pulp are reforming for their first live shows in over a decade, with TRNSMT festival offering a great chance to revisit the era-defining tunes of these Sheffield-based icons. The band’s last performance was a one-off concert in 2012, so there’s certainly going to be a lot to catch up on.

Across the weekend, there is also an opportunity to catch a formidable slate of the country’s finest rising acts: current Dork cover stars Inhaler are set to perform on the Saturday, presumably offering tunes from their recently-announced second album, ‘Cuts & Bruises’; Maisie Peters will bring her talents to the North following a huge run of sold-out UK shows a few months prior; Ashnikko is set to maintain her “bonkers brilliance” with a provocative live set that drives crowds feral.

Exclusive pre-sale for Three customers opens next Wednesday, November 2nd, at 9am. Fan pre-sale opens a day later, with general sale kicking off 9am on Friday, November 4th. All tickets are available here.
