About Death Grips
Death Grips is an American experimental hip-hop band formed in 2010 in Sacramento, California. The group consists of producers Zach Hill and Andy Morin, and vocalist Stefan Burnett, also known as MC Ride. Zach Hill has been credited as the primary creative force behind the project. Their music incorporates elements of hip-hop, punk rock, electronic, noise, and industrial styles. The band released the mixtape Exmilitary in April 2011 and their debut studio album, The Money Store, in 2012. After signing to Epic Records in 2012, they leaked their second album, No Love Deep Web, for free download, which led to their being dropped from the label. They later launched the label Third Worlds in partnership with Harvest Records and released their third album, Government Plates, in 2013. The group is known for their aggressive performance style and cryptic interactions with fans and media.
The experimental hip-hop group's status has remained unclear since their last release, 'Gmail and the Restraining Orders', arrived in 2019.
