About Elton John
Sir Elton Hercules John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947, is a British singer, songwriter, and pianist. He learned to play piano at an early age and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. In the 1960s, he formed the blues band Bluesology, wrote songs for other artists with Bernie Taupin, and worked as a session musician before releasing his debut album, Empty Sky, in 1969.
