Mogwai are a Scottish post-rock band formed in 1995 in Glasgow. The band members include Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesizer, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), and Martin Bulloch (drums). They are known for composing lengthy guitar-based instrumental pieces characterized by dynamic contrast, melodic bass lines, and extensive use of distortion and effects. The band was signed for several years to the Glasgow label Chemikal Underground and has been distributed by labels such as Matador in the US and Play It Again Sam in the UK. They now operate their own label, Rock Action Records in the UK, and use Temporary Residence Ltd. in North America. Their tenth album, As the Love Continues, reached number one in the UK Albums Chart on 26 February 2021.
