Tove Lo, born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson on 29 October 1987, is a Swedish singer-songwriter. She is known for her raw, grunge-influenced approach to pop music and autobiographical lyrics. Raised in the Djursholm district of Danderyd, she attended Rytmus Musikergymnasiet, a music school. In 2006, she formed the rock band Tremblebee. After the band disbanded, she pursued songwriting and signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011. She collaborated with producers such as Alexander Kronlund, Max Martin, and Xenomania, gaining success as a songwriter while also releasing her own music independently. In 2013, she signed with Universal Music, Island, and Polydor. Her debut album, Queen of the Clouds, was released in 2014 and reached number 14 on the US Billboard 200. The album included the single 'Habits (Stay High)', which peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100, and 'Talking Body'.
