About This Track

Aminé and Gunna trade verses over a trap beat built on smeared keyboards and precise hi-hats, the production courtesy of Tee-Watt, Tedd Boyd, and Aminé himself. The hook lands cleanly, a repetition of "no hiccups" that anchors the song's central conceit: a refusal of drama, a posture of untroubled excess. Aminé moves through the track with ease, his delivery conversational even as he catalogs the trappings of success, whilst Gunna arrives in the second verse to match the energy with talk of diamonds and luxury cars. The song doesn't labour under the weight of deeper meaning. Instead it functions as a straightforward celebration of material comfort and the lifestyle that comes with it, both rappers sounding entirely at home in the moment. The lightness of the production keeps things buoyant; there's no strain in the flex, no desperation in the boast. It's a track built to move through a club without friction, and it does exactly that.

"HICCUP" is a track by Aminé, from the album ONEPOINTFIVE, released 15th August 2018. Full lyrics are available below.
