A Dork four-star record, 'DEMIDEVIL' arrived in 2021 after months of teasing and release-date shuffling. 'Daisy', released in July 2020 as the mixtape's second single, had already been performed live in 2019 before Ashnikko and producer Thomas Slinger committed it to record. The track sets the tone for the project's deliberately provocative energy, Ashnikko flipping princess tropes into declarations of power and autonomy. The production, handled by Slinger, moves fast and hits hard. Ashnikko's delivery toggles between melodic hooks and confrontational bars, the lyric built around inversions of expectation. She writes herself as king rather than princess, the imagery mixing daisies and bruises, moonlight and blue ice, sweetness undercut by threat. The chorus lands with clarity: being difficult is the point, not a problem to solve. 'DEMIDEVIL' as a whole leans into genre-free magpie instincts, sampling Kelis on 'Deal With It' and reworking Avril Lavigne on 'L8r Boi'. 'Daisy' fits that pattern, big and brash without desaturation, an introduction that refuses to pull a single punch.
