About This Track

Astrid S strips away emotional defences on 'Paper Thin', a portrait of vulnerability laid bare by love. The track uses translucence as its central metaphor: a heart worn down to transparency, secrets exposed, the self rendered readable and unguarded. She sings of drowning, of being traced and traced again, of a love that has slowly worn away her boundaries until there is nothing left to hide behind. The production holds space for the lyrical confession. Bursting out, she repeats, unable to contain what has been made visible. By the bridge, the erosion is complete: "the way I feel's so obvious now". It is a song about the particular helplessness of loving someone who can see straight through you.
