Bazzi navigates the loneliness of early success on 'Myself', a track built around the simple, repeating assertion that he is better off alone. The song documents his wariness of false friendships, the kind that accumulate when an artist's profile rises. He wants company without performance, intimacy without the exhaustion of maintaining facades. "I can't fake no more smiles," he sings, a posture of exhaustion rather than arrogance. The track moves between two registers: introspection and deflection. In the verses, Bazzi names what he's learned to reject: drama, bad energy, the emotional labour of keeping up with people who cannot keep up with him. He's focused on the future, on financial security, on protecting his peace. The chorus reduces all of this to a mantra, one that sounds less like liberation than like a necessary boundary, something he needs to repeat until he believes it. By the outro, trust itself has become the casualty. "Fool me once, I'm on my own," he concludes. There is no room for second chances.
