About This Track

BE:FIRST reject the premise of chasing trends on 'Mainstream', the closing track from their album 2:BE. The group moves through the song with a kind of deliberate indifference, dismissing the machinery of viral moments and chart positions as beside the point. What matters, they suggest, is authenticity: wearing what you want to wear, being who you want to be, letting your existence itself become the medium rather than waiting for permission from the usual channels. The production mirrors that confidence. Verses build with sharp rap delivery and conversational asides, whilst the refrain settles into a hypnotic loop of "zoom, zoom, zoom" and affirmations, the repetition working less as hype than as a kind of mantra. The chorus positions lifestyle as art form, inviting listeners to follow not because they are being sold something, but because the group has already moved past the need to sell. It is a closing statement that feels less like a conclusion than a declaration of intent.

"Mainstream" is a single by BE:FIRST, from the album 2:BE, released 27th August 2024. The track is 3:27 long. It's filed under J-Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about BE:FIRST.

[BE:FIRST「Mainstream」

[Intro]

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it

We gonna make it, we, we, we gonna make it)

[Refrain: SOTA]

Zoom, zoom, zoom

(We gonna make it)

(We gonna make it)

Zoom, zoom, zoom

(We gonna make it)

We're gonna create the trend, trend, trend

(We, we gonna make it)

[Refrain: RYOKI]

Zoom, zoom, zoom

Zoom, zoom, zoom

We're gonna create the trend, trend, trend, trend

[Verse 1: LEO, JUNON, MANATO]

You don't have to be smart

My style

I set the trend, trend, trend

[Refrain: RYUHEI]

Zoom, zoom, zoom

Zoom, zoom, zoom

We show you the new standard

[Pre-Chorus: SHUNTO, RYUHEI]

Mainstream

Art

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

Heroes, Villains, follow me up

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

[Post-Chorus: RYOKI]

(Mainstream)

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

From the bottom to the top, we go zoom, zoom, zoom

We don't need an argument 全然

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

(Mainstream)

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

Zoom, zoom, zoom

(We gonna make it, we gonna make it)

We're gonna create the trend

[Bridge: SHUNTO, RYUHEI, SHUNTO & RYUHEI]

I be, I be, I be, I be, I be on stage

Topics, topics, topics, topics, topics all day

I got, got, got, got, got my fame

We "Mainstream"

[Verse 2: MANATO, RYUHEI]

Don't get me, don't get me

Don't get me wrong but…

[Verse 3: JUNON & LEO, JUNON, LEO]

Fall in!

[Verse 4: SOTA, RYOKI]

TV, Radio, Magazine, Internet

Prince??

Shooting star

What happened? You've never imagined

'Cause I'm a super bussin' car!

[Refrain: SHUNTO]

Zoom, zoom, zoom

Zoom, zoom, zoom

We show you the new standard
