About This Track

'Hated' confronts the weight of being targeted for who you are. Beartooth frames it as a kind of isolation, a bullseye painted by the insecure, and the song moves through defiance and exhaustion in equal measure. The refrain "I won't forget, I won't forgive" sits at the emotional centre, less a promise of revenge than a statement of refusal to let the hurt dissolve into nothing. What gives the track its force is the shift from passive suffering to active rejection. The opening verses dwell on the pain of being misunderstood, but by the second half, the narrator has moved past that. "I am not your scapegoat anymore" becomes the turning point, a declaration of severance. The repetition of "you're not forgiven" hardens that boundary, each iteration a small act of reclamation.
