Everyone's Famous - Commentary

"Everyone's Famous" is one of my absolute favorite songs on the record. And it was actually written on a day when there was two other songs that you hear on the record, which doesn't happen often. It was August 4th, 2019, and we wrote "Paralyzed" and "Kill Them With Kindness." I can tell you there was a lot of waltzing going on around the piano because what would writing be without dancing around the room? But, uhm, I had a very clear idea of that Jeff Buckley sound, uhm, meets that kind of Brandi Carlile arc in her songs. I really wanted the song to explodе by the end. So cut to meeting Aaron Sterling, onе of the world's best drummers. He walks in, and he was trying to be polite to the vocal at the end of the song. And I just said to him, "No, no, no, no, no, no, go nuts, absolutely go for it." And he did and it's my favorite drums on the record.
