Evanescence are dropping a new album, 'Sanctuary', this June
Spiritbox, Poppy, Nova Twins and K.Flay will join the band for extensive world tour dates.
About This Track
'Hello' is the ninth track on Evanescence's debut album Fallen. Amy Lee wrote it about the death of her sister when Lee was six years old. The song is among the most personal work on the record, built from the perspective of someone trying to comfort another through grief, offering themselves as a presence in the dark. The lyrics move between playground imagery and direct address, Lee's voice cutting through arrangements of piano and strings. She positions herself as a kind of ghost or echo, something left behind after loss, singing "I'm still here / All that's left of yesterday". The song refuses easy resolution; there is no fixing, no waking from the dream, only the fact of remaining.
"Hello" is a track by Evanescence, from the album Fallen, released 4th March 2003. The track is 3:40 long. It's filed under Hard Rock. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 6 articles about Evanescence.
About the Artist
Lyrics
Playground school bell rings again Rain clouds come to play again Has no one told you she's not breathing? Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to Hello If I smile and don't believe Soon I know I'll wake from this dream Don't try to fix me I'm not broken Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide Don't cry Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping Hello, I'm still here All that's left of yesterday
