Misread

‘Misread’ by Fazerdaze is an indie rock track from the album ‘Morningside’ (2017). The lyrics watch someone present themselves in contradictory ways, switching from pride to self-reproach, with the narrator sounding frustrated at how that person speaks about themselves when they are feeling down, including lines about “someone else”. It is a tight emotional argument, built from quick observations about posture, expression, and attention, as the viewpoint turns repeatedly from fascination at their self-talk to irritation at its downward drift.
