About This Track

‘Trying’ by Fred again.. is a 2023 track from the album ‘Secret Life’. The lyrics frame a tension between cause and consequence, with the speaker watching what someone has got themselves into. Over a repeated insistence, the vocal line returns to the idea of not waiting, just waiting for the other person to attempt something, ending up sounding less like patience and more like challenge. The song also includes an instrumental break, shifting the mood while the argument keeps circling back. One short phrase captures the accusation, “Look what trouble you’re writing about”.

"Trying" is a track by Fred again.., from the album Secret Life, released 5th May 2023. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 14 articles about Fred again...

Lyrics

Trying

[Intro]

[Look what trouble you're writing about

I knew it was a game?]

[Instrumental Break]

[Chorus]

[I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try

I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try

I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try

I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try?]

[Bridge]

[Please make, please, please

Please make, please make, make it stop

Stop, please

I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try

I'm just waiting?]

Oh, I don't know where you are

My angel, you are a star

[Outro]

[I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try

I'm not waiting

I'm just waiting for you to try?]
