About This Track

'Hey Alligator' by Galantis is a 2017 dance track from 'The Aviary'. The lyrics stage an infatuation that feels trapped and predatory, with the speaker pleading for mercy while insisting, in spite of their fear, that they cannot resist the pull. The imagery is all teeth and drowning, then flips into a compulsive, “come back for more” reckoning.
