About This Track

'Moonlight' is a track built on repetition and mood. Gaullin anchors the song in a hypnotic chorus that cycles through declarations of confidence and desire, the refrain "get your mood right" functioning as both invitation and command. The production sits somewhere between trap and garage, minimal enough to let the vocal hook dominate. The verse introduces a harder edge, with Gaullin adopting a posture of swagger and menace before the bridge pulls back into something more vulnerable, the repeated plea to be called and made to feel right suggesting a dependence that undercuts the earlier bravado. It's a familiar tension in contemporary hip-hop, but the track's economy means it lands with some force.

"Moonlight" is a track by Gaullin, from the album The Annual 2020, released 12th June 2018. Full lyrics are available below.

[Verse]

Feel like I'm destined

I don't need no Smith & Wesson, no

Girl, who you testin'?

Fuck a Scantron, here's your lesson, oh

Knife in intestine

Takin' shots at all your brethren, no

Feel like I'm damaged

Girl I know you fucking planned this

[Bridge]

All alone, call my phone, make me feel right

Girl you know when you call, make me feel right

All alone, call my phone, make me feel right

Girl you know when you call, make me feel right

[Chorus]

Spotlight, uh, moonlight, uh

Nigga, why you trippin'? Get your mood right, uh

Shawty look good in the moonlight, uh

All these pussy niggas so bad mind, uh

Spotlight, moonlight

Nigga, why you trippin'? Get your mood right

Shawty look good in the moonlight

All these pussy niggas so bad mind
